1899 年，英國物理學(xué)家歐內(nèi)斯特·盧瑟福（Ernest Rutherford）發(fā)現(xiàn)了放射性輻射中的兩種成分，并把“軟”的成分稱為 α 射線，“硬”的成分稱為 β 射線。這一年，他 28 歲。

誠然，一個(gè)人的成就與年齡并不一定相關(guān)；但不可否認(rèn)，青年時(shí)期往往是極具創(chuàng)新力與探索精神、是推動(dòng)從量變到質(zhì)變的“靈光一現(xiàn)”的人生階段。不同時(shí)期的科研人員和探索者們通過不懈努力和創(chuàng)新求索，催促著科技的進(jìn)步，改變著人類文明的軌跡。
為了找出這群在所有創(chuàng)新與發(fā)展背后一直勇往直前的年輕人，《麻省理工科技評(píng)論》自 1999 年起，每年都會(huì)進(jìn)行 35 歲以下青年科技創(chuàng)新者的評(píng)選，即“35 歲以下科技創(chuàng)新 35 人”（Innovators Under 35，簡稱 “TR35”），以此給予他們應(yīng)得的關(guān)注，肯定他們在技術(shù)領(lǐng)域的創(chuàng)新工作，并且激勵(lì)他們繼續(xù)在專業(yè)領(lǐng)域上取得更大的成就。
當(dāng)然，著眼于全球的同時(shí)，我們不能忘記，在每個(gè)國家，每個(gè)地區(qū)，也有這樣一群年輕人在為其發(fā)展付出努力。為了讓更多青年創(chuàng)新者被看到，TR35 于 2010 年開始了區(qū)域性評(píng)選。
其中，作為世界上文化最為多元的地區(qū)之一，亞太地區(qū)的經(jīng)濟(jì)正在持續(xù)快速發(fā)展，社會(huì)在不斷地進(jìn)步，其科技創(chuàng)新的力量不可小覷。2021 年，全新版亞太區(qū)“35 歲以下科技創(chuàng)新 35 人”在中國開啟，希望借此發(fā)掘更多極具發(fā)展?jié)撡|(zhì)的青年科技人才，將這群思維敏捷、靈感不斷、極具創(chuàng)造力的科技青年推向多元化、全球化的舞臺(tái)；同時(shí)，也讓更多“引進(jìn)來”和“走出去”的科技成果為亞太科技發(fā)展再續(xù)新章。
目前，《麻省理工科技評(píng)論》“35 歲以下科技創(chuàng)新 35 人” 2023 年亞太區(qū)報(bào)名正在進(jìn)行，35 歲以下的亞太地區(qū)青年科學(xué)家、科研工作者、科技創(chuàng)業(yè)者均可參選。同時(shí)，我們也向社會(huì)各界征集候選人提名，希望您與我們一起為科技青年成長提供機(jī)會(huì)，共同推進(jìn)亞太地區(qū)乃至全球范圍的科技創(chuàng)新，極致拓展人類的認(rèn)知邊界，醞釀下一個(gè)“重塑世界”的可能。
